1st Horsell leaders get socialising

Now I know that to all Horsell scouts those very nice leaders are a group of truly sensible simply lovely people - but that doesn't always have to be the case it seems.

One Saturday evening recently, over seventy leaders and friends met at the Horsell HQ for an older persons "fun and friends" get together. This one involved an evening-long quiz in the very capable hands of Mayor Boris (who invited him?) together with a huge amount of tasty food and liquid refreshment.

It was certainly packed in the hall with twelve noisy teams and with Mayor Boris taking charge at the top table. The evening also boasted a P/A system (thanks Nigel) that could have allowed the night to deteriorate into a karaoke party. However no one behaved well enough for such a luxury, Tony (Tom Jones) Bowman would have won that anyway!

The evening went on to show what a ridiculous load of intelligent beings some, but by no means all, of us leader folk are. The winners of the main quiz "The Gadgeteers" scored a massive total of 117 (suitably rewarded with a massive prize) and Gladys were acclaimed champions of the second quiz by amassing an awesome total of a whole 97 without even resorting to mobile phone internet technology once!

It was a first rate evening and a tremendous success. I know that everyone present would like to thank Mayor Boris and his team of willing councillors for making it so good.
