1st Horsell Scout Group is FULL

Recently our Chief Scout, Peter Duncan, was giving an interview on Radio 4. He was very upbeat about the way the Scout Organisation was at the moment stating that numbers were increasing and enthusiasm was growing. It may come as no surprise, therefore, to find that a very successful group such as 1st Horsell Scout Group would have a problem meeting the needs of both its present and its future members.

Horsell Scouts has had a waiting list for Beavers and a further list for Cubs for many years. The problem facing our Group Leaders is that we are now finding it increasingly difficult to find spaces for our existing members let alone for those on waiting lists. The total number of boys in Horsell Scout Group is 128. Of all the six individual units there are only twelve spaces to accommodate existing and new boys. This is a particularly difficult situation in our thriving Cub packs, Baden Powell and Brownsea. Here the allocation of places has becoming alarmingly difficult.

However, although plans are in place to improve the situation the only sure way of jumping the queue, especially for our two cub packs is to assist in the running of unit meetings as a uniformed leader. We are very fortunate to have a fantastic team of leaders in Horsell but we will always find a space for your son or daughter if you decide to join us.
