2009 - a Magical Mystery Tour?
There can be very few people who can say that last year wasn't a pretty good one for 1st Horsell Scouts...
We found ourselves a sparkling new Chairperson who very soon had successfully filled the vacant posts of group treasurer and group secretary.
We found ourselves more leaders to help in the running of our successful Beaver, Cub and Scout units.
Tony and Kevin, Group Scout Leaders, together with our existing leaders, continued to ensure that 1st Horsell's reputation of one of Woking's finest was maintained. To top it all there are hardly any spaces for new members, especially in the younger units.
...but that was last year.
This year plans are already in place to make 2009 memorable too.
Even at this early stage our May Fayre Committee is gearing itself up for another first rate day of fun and festivities with a varied selection of attractions.
The Horsell Scout's Fun Day is again planned for a Saturday in September.
Our busy Jumble Sales have been organised by the Fundraising Committee who are also considering further fundraising plans.
Arrangements are being made for 2010 with the venue of the Gang Show booked and the Girlguiding Centenary also in that year. Horsell Scout Group is even proceeding with early plans for festivities for its own Centenary in 2011!
May I take this opportunity to wish a Happy New Year to all Leaders and members of 1st Horsell Scout Group and their families.
Tony, Group Scout Leader.
