Challenge Met!!
Three cubs and one recently invested Gladstone scout were presented with their Chief Scout's Silver Award at the end of the Baden-Powell cub's meeting on 11th March. As befits the award, the highest that can be attained in the cub section, the badges were presented by Woking's Assistant District Commissioner Linda Plunkett. The boys, Nathan Leeming, Oliver Platt, Jack Spencer-Skeen and David Sugden were the first B-P cubs who qualified for the award under the new rules, whereby they had to gain 6 challenge badges which tested a wide range of skills and abilities and proved that they are good all-rounders who were up for meeting and beating any challenges thrown in their way. On behalf of the pack I'd like to pass on our congratulations to all of the recipients for a great effort.
Encouragingly, we have a number of other cubs who are very close to finishing their outstanding challenge badges so Linda, clear your diary as we're looking forwards to more presentations in the near future!
