Gladstone Scouts 'bob a job'
There were no bobs, uncle bobs or jobs worth, on Sunday 28th October. Scouts from Gladstone Troop gathered at early - well for a Sunday. To participate in some Community Service around Horsell.
The first stop was at the Horsell War Memorial, where the Scouts and Leaders de-weeded and scrubbed down the Memorial and area for Remembrance Day. It was quite hard work and we were glad when the rain started, if not to refresh us but to wash away the large amounts of Fairy washing up liquid which had covered the area like a foam party!
After filling up with some healthy sandwiches and some not so healthy spicy chicken and maybe one or two cakes. The second stop was Horsell Primary School where we filled a large amount of black sacks with leaves and fir cones from which we thought was a never ending playground!
The Scouts that attended this activity and a Theatre Trip organised earlier in the week gained their Community Challenge, which will contribute to their Chief Scout's Gold Award.
