Hall Hire – Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

  1. Payment of the Deposit and Hire Charge can be made either in cash to the Hiring Officer or internet bank transfer to our account at Lloyds Bank (sort code 30 99 80 number 02386066). When using bank transfer please advise the Letting Officer when the transfer has been made.
  2. Until the booking is confirmed by the Hiring Officer via a Letting Agreement and the Deposit paid the booking will be considered as provisional.
  3. Payment of the Deposit confirms that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.
  4. We reserve the right to cancel the booking, without notice, if the Deposit is not paid within two week of the booking being accepted.
  5. The Hire Charge must be paid before you will be allowed access to the hall(s).
  6. If, for any reason other than your failure to abide by these Terms & Conditions, we have to cancel your hire then we will return both your Deposit and, if already paid, the HireCharge.
  7. If you cancel the hire by giving the Hiring Officer more than 2 weeks notice then we reserve the right to return only 90% of the deposit. If you cancel the hire by giving the Hiring Officer less than 2 weeks notice then we reserve the right to return the deposit less the Hire Charge.
  8. If, after the hire period, we find any rubbish, or damage, or breakage, or extra cleaning necessary as a result of the hire then an appropriate deduction (minimum £20) will be made from the Deposit before it is returned.
  9. The Deposit less any deductions will normally be returned (in cash if paid in cash) within 5 working days of the hire period ending.

Responsibility of the hirer

  1. When entering the building the hirer should note and point out to others the location of fire exits and safety equipment. Safety regulations are displayed on the notice board in the lobby.
  2. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted within the building or within 5 metres of the building.
  3. The hirer must remove all their rubbish from the building and the outside area at the end of the hire period. There are NO rubbish bins available for the use of the Hirer.
  4. The building and surrounding area must be left in a clean and tidy condition.
  5. Under no circumstances must anything be stuck, pinned or otherwise fixed to any part of the walls, floor, ceiling, lights, etc.
  6. Our chairs and tables may be used by the hirer but they must be returned to the designated area and stacked neatly after use. (Furniture must not be dragged across the floor)
  7. No alcohol is to be consumed on the premises unless prior agreement is given by the Hiring Officer and the Hirer has obtained the appropriate licences.
  8. No gambling (including raffles) is permitted on the premises unless prior agreement is given by the Hiring Officer and the Hirer has obtained the appropriate licences.
  9. Music is permitted provided the Hirer has the necessary music licences.
  10. Large electrical equipment provided by the Hirer must be PAT tested.
  11. If using the kitchen, the hirer should provide their own crockery, cutlery, utensils, towels, etc.
  12. No candles or similar ignited items are to be lit within the building. (Such item are likely to activate the fire/heatalarm system)
  13. The hirer MUST have vacated the premises by 11.45 pm at the latest. The alarm is automatically triggered if anybody is in the building after midnight. (as good neighbours please remember to be quiet when leaving the premises late at night)
